Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand VIDA is continuing to expand its presence in India’s rapidly growing electric two-wheeler market. The latest sales data indicates strong momentum for the brand, with VIDA recording 28,798 units in domestic dispatches during September 2026. According to Hero MotoCorp, VIDA’s VAHAN registrations also increased by 83% year-on-year during the month.
The growth follows a strong performance in August, when VIDA reportedly sold 25,558 electric scooters, representing a 108% year-on-year increase. The wider Indian electric two-wheeler market also recorded substantial growth during the month, highlighting increasing consumer interest in electric mobility.
A key product driving VIDA’s recent expansion is the VX2 electric scooter. The company has broadened the VX2 range with multiple battery configurations, including the VX2 Go and VX2 Plus. A newer 4.4 kWh VX2 Plus variant offers a claimed IDC range of up to 187 km, along with a more powerful 1 kW portable charger.
VIDA has also focused on making EV ownership more flexible through its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. Under this approach, customers can reduce the initial purchase cost by subscribing to the battery rather than purchasing it outright. The company has positioned this model as a way to make electric scooters more accessible to a wider range of Indian customers.
The company’s growing sales performance comes as Hero MotoCorp continues to expand its electric-mobility strategy. Reports indicate that Hero MotoCorp is also preparing to enter the electric motorcycle segment, with its first electric motorcycle expected in 2027, extending the company’s EV ambitions beyond scooters.
Overall, the latest September figures show that VIDA is becoming an increasingly visible participant in India’s electric two-wheeler market, supported by a wider scooter portfolio, flexible battery-ownership options and growing consumer demand.
