Premier Energies continues to strengthen its position in India’s renewable-energy manufacturing sector, with several major developments reported through September 2026. The company recently commissioned a 7 GW N-type TOPCon G12R solar cell facility in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, taking its total solar-cell manufacturing capacity to 10.6 GW. The facility involved an investment of around ₹3,293 crore.
The company’s expansion comes alongside strong financial performance. In Q1 FY27, Premier Energies reported revenue of approximately ₹2,462.6 crore, representing 35.25% year-on-year growth. Net profit reached about ₹471.9 crore, up 53% year-on-year, according to reported quarterly figures.
Another important development is the company’s move into battery energy storage systems (BESS). Premier Energies signed a binding term sheet with RCT Energy India for a proposed 12 GWh BESS manufacturing facility in Telangana, with the first phase planned at 6 GWh. The project is intended to address commercial, industrial and utility-scale energy-storage requirements in India and overseas markets.
In July, Premier Energies also inaugurated a 5.6 GW solar-module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur, Telangana. The company simultaneously conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for a planned 6 GWh BESS facility and an aluminium-frame manufacturing facility with capacity of 18,000 metric tonnes per year.
More recently, company disclosures show the incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore and other corporate developments. Premier Energies also announced the closure of its trading window for the quarter ending September 30, 2026.
The company’s Chief Business Officer, Vinay Rustagi, recently said that rising solar input costs could affect smaller and less-integrated manufacturers more severely, while Premier Energies expects to maintain resilience through its integrated manufacturing operations.
Overall, the latest developments show Premier Energies pursuing simultaneous expansion in solar cells, solar modules and battery-energy storage, while increasing manufacturing capacity in India. The company’s upcoming projects and execution will remain important developments for India’s rapidly expanding renewable-energy manufacturing industry.
