Ather Energy continues to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly expanding electric two-wheeler market. The company has recently crossed an important milestone of more than 8 lakh cumulative electric scooter sales, highlighting the growing acceptance of its products among Indian consumers. Reports indicate that around 59% of Ather’s lifetime retail sales have come since January 2025, showing a significant acceleration in demand.
One of the biggest contributors to this growth has been the Ather Rizta, the company’s family-focused electric scooter. The Rizta has crossed the 3 lakh-unit sales milestone, demonstrating strong demand for practical and comfortable electric mobility in Indian cities.
Ather has also expanded its portfolio with the Konarc, a new electric scooter introduced at a starting price of ₹99,999. The model is positioned to bring Ather technology to a broader customer base, with different variants and claimed IDC ranges of up to 200 km. The launch is part of Ather’s strategy to expand beyond its premium-oriented positioning and compete more aggressively in the mass-market EV segment.
The company is also attracting strong investor attention. Nomura has maintained Ather Energy as its preferred electric two-wheeler pick, expecting the company to perform strongly in the September quarter. The brokerage has highlighted Ather’s growth prospects and expanding electric vehicle market opportunity.
Another important development is the increasing involvement of Hero MotoCorp. In August, Hero MotoCorp announced an additional investment of up to ₹1,758 crore in Ather Energy, taking its stake to approximately 32.8%. This partnership could support Ather’s long-term expansion, manufacturing capabilities and EV ecosystem development.
With rising sales, new products such as Konarc, continued Rizta demand and strong investor backing, Ather Energy is emerging as an increasingly important player in India’s electric mobility revolution. The coming months will be crucial as competition intensifies among Ather, TVS, Bajaj, Ola and other EV manufacturers.
